PURPOSE: An electroluminescence(EL) device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to protect the EL device from static electricity by forming data pads and scan pads from the inside of an edge surface of a transparent substrate and providing a static electricity braking pad on an edge of the transparent substrate. CONSTITUTION: An EL layer(80) is formed on a cross region among first and second data lines(DL1,DL2) on a transparent substrate(70) and scan lines(SL) to emit light. First and second data pads(76,78) are separated from an edge surface of the transparent substrate(70) by predetermined spaces(82,86) and connected to the first and second data lines(DL1,DL2). Scan pads(90) are separated from the edge surface of the transparent(70) by a predetermined space(94) and connected to the scan lines(SL). The EL layer(80) includes an organic emitting layer formed on the first and second data lines(DL1,DL2) formed on the transparent substrate(70).
