A fusion furnace (10) and a gasification fusion furnace, the fusion furnace comprising combustion chambers (11, 12, 13) for melting ash and a slag falling port (17) for discharging molten slag (20) produced by melting the ash, wherein the slag falling port (17) is formed of a replaceable refractory material, and the peripheral end part of the slag falling port (17) is formed higher on the upstream side of a gas flow than on the downstream side; the gasification fusion furnace comprising a fluidized gasification furnace and primary, secondary, and tertiary combustion chambers (11, 12, 13), wherein a slag falling port part block is formed on the lowest part of the secondary combustion chamber.
