A universal pipe joint having bellows symmetrically disposed so that they are superposed when bent along the longitudinal center line of the joint, adapted to accommodate axial expansion-contraction displacement, bending displacement in a plane crossing the axis, and circumferentially forward and backward rotative displacement in a well-balanced manner, while mitigating the stress on each element to improve the durability and service life of the joint itself. To this end, the universal pipe joint is characterized in that right and left inclined bellows (1, 1) having a tubular appearance and consisting of a plurality of pleats inclined at predetermined angles of (θa, θb) between the opposite end connections (F, F) are spaced and opposed to each other with the direction of inclination reversed, symmetrically disposed so that they are superposed when bent along a center line (10) in the direction of the pipe length forming a base point for symmetry, thus constituting a joint structure (BK) consisting of a two-in-a-set combination bellows (bk2) such that two inclined bellows, right and left, form a set, thereby making it possible to omnidirectionally accommodate axial expansion-contraction displacement, bending displacement in a plane crossing the axis, and circumferentially forward and backward rotative displacement leading to distortion, in a well-balanced manner.
|
