Two boards below the patient are joined together by hydraulic arms at head and foot and the patient thereupon strapped to the upper board. The arms are at this stage extended, possibly rotatably fitted in the center of the two boards, and in this way the two boards and patient are turned round the required amount. The arms are retracted so the patient now lies on the stomach or other part on the bottom board. The patient is unstrapped to allow the board to be pulled out from below.
