The swing mounting for the backrest, of a seat at an automobile floor, has swing journals (1c) at the lower sides to fit into holders (2a) attached to the bodywork as the swing bearings. Plastics half-shells (3b) are embedded within the bearing holders, with an insertion slit open upwards, and a projection (3h) between webs (3g) to give a keyed fit against rotation at projections (2g,2h) in the holder. The locking lever (3) is a plastics component, to give an elastic grip over the inserted swing mounting journals, with a radial pressure into the bearing half-shells.
