SLURRY TRANSFER APPARATUS An apparatus for transfer of slurry is provided with cylindrical feed chamber for provisional storage of slurry. A float is located at the interface between the slurry and the driving liquid for transferring the slurry under pressure. The side wall of the feed chamber have small apertures facing each other, in which a signal transmission cover member of non-magnetic material containing a signal transmission coil and a signal receiving cover member of non-magnetic material containing a signal receiving coil are arranged respectively. When the float is interposed between the transmission coil and the receiving coil, magnetic fluxes from the transmission coil are transmitted to the receiving coil through the float thereby detecting the presence of the float.
