The invention relates to an NMR probe comprising at least one magnet (Fig. 3, reference sign 18) for generating a constant polarization field Bo (19) in the material which is to be tested having a high-frequency circuit for generating a pulsed high-frequency magnetic induction field B1 (25). In order to generate a traverse component that is orthogonal to the polarization field Bo the high-frequency circuit comprises current conductors (7) which generate a plurality of adjacent induction fields B1 (25) with respective alternating opposite magnetic fields. The conductors or conductor areas (7) are disposed relative to each other at a distance (d) defining the penetration depth of the induction fields into the material which is to be examined. When a U-shaped magnet (18) is used to generate the polarization field Bo (19) in order to produce the high-frequency circuit, a meandering current conductor (17) is used in the gap area above the pole shanks (20, 21) of the magnet. When a block magnet is used to generate the polarization field, a combination of HF coils with alternating orientation is disposed on the fronts of the magnets, e.g. in the geometry of a meander, a four-coil clover leaf or in the form of a ring consisting of eight coils. |
