Vitamins, bioactive compounds or trace elements are supplemented to cosmetic preparations such as lubricants, ointments, creams, body lotions, or lipsticks, and the like, in concentrations not only meant for skin care, but in quantities that will significantly increase their circulating concentrations. Compounds to be added to said dermal applications have a known preventive effect to the development of chronic diseases, or are deficient in a substantial part of the target group. The dermal applications form a carrier for transdermal transport. In that way a new product line is created by this invention which will contribute to preventive medicine and will benefit, amongst others, 10 populations which are difficult to reach and/or not easily motivated to take regular food supplements or functional food. |
