<p>The invention relates to a method for transformation of polymers or copolymers in particular branched polyolefins, in the presence of a solid catalyst, comprising a metal hydride supported on a mineral support or an organometallic complex supported on a mineral support, preferably in the presence of hydrogen. In said method the reaction conditions are controlled such as to preferentially arrive at a cleavage of the branching of the polymer(s) or copolymer(s) with the formation of polymers and/or copolymers with properties and chemical structures different from the starting materials. The invention can be applied to polyethylenes, polypropylenes, polystyrenes and copolymers.</p> |
