Process to make tufted carpet with a battery array of hooked needles each raising a fibre between two guides and blades to a cutting blade

In a process to make a velour-type needle-punched tufted fabric, a hooked needle (2) raises a fibre (9) between two adjacent fixed lamella (1), forming a loop on the hook (4). At its uppermost point, the hook esp. passes a knife blade cutting edge (6), dividing the looped pile fibre in two. In a preferred embodiment the needle rises and falls between two knife blades whose cutting edges are at slightly different heights. Also claimed is a needle hook with a lifting surface inclined to the horizontal. Further claimed is a commensurate assembly with a battery of lamella, blades and hooked needles.
