PURPOSE: Provided is a method for making far infrared ray-emitting ceramics for coating a roasting plate, which permits cooking using far infrared rays, prevents intermolecular release of the ceramic, improves heat conductivity, and prevents meats to be roasted from adhering to the plate. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: washing crushed natural ceramic material with water; fractionating the washed ceramic material; performing centrifugal separation of the fractionated ceramic material to remove TiO2Zr; agglomerating and precipitating the ceramic material dispersed in water for washing in the form of colloidal particles; introducing the precipitated ceramic particles into a rotary kiln and repeatedly heating and quenching to obtain finely divided particles. In the method, the ceramic material comprises SiO2 44.55 wt%, Al2O3 20.3 wt%, CaO 6.20 wt% MgO 4.76 wt%, TiO2 4.21 wt%, ZrO2 1.85 wt%, Na2O 1.15 wt%, K2O 0.77 wt%, Fe2O3 2.62 wt%, P2O5 0.05 wt%, MnO 0.02 wt%, BaO.6Fe2O3 3.55 wt%, SO3 0 wt% and Ig-loss(loss of ignition) 9.91 wt%. The fractionated ceramic material has a particle diameter of 3-10 micrometers. The finely divided ceramic material is obtained at an overheated steam temperature of 150-200 deg.C. The completed ceramic particles are spray coated to the surface of a roasting plate at a thickness of 30-100 micrometers.
