<p>The catheter tube (2) with a funnel (1) incorporated at the end remote from the suction end, is used as an endoscope for removing stones from inside a patient's body. The open end (4) of this funnel slopes at an angle to the central axis of the funnel port at an angle which is different from 90 deg. The ratio between the height (a) of the funnel to its largest internal size (b) is about 1:1.46 at a funnel opening angle (alpha) of 30 deg. and an angle of incidence (beta) of 35 deg. The tubular region (16) immediately behind the funnel undergoes a limited reduction in its cross sectional area.</p> |
