PURPOSE: A thin film transistor array substrate and a method for fabricating the array substrate are provided to form a data pad from a metal film different from a metal film used for forming source and drain patterns to reduce contact resistance. CONSTITUTION: A thin film transistor array substrate includes a pixel electrode(66), a thin film transistor connected to the pixel electrode, a gate line(52) and a data line(54) connected to the thin film transistor, and a gate pad part(70) connected with a gate driver. The array substrate further includes a data pad part(80) connected with a data driver, a gate link connected between the gate pad and gate line, and a data link connected between the data pad and data line. The data pad includes a data pad protection electrode(86) serially connected to the data driver and a data pad(82). The data link includes the first data link(84) extended from the data pad and the second data link(88) extended from the data pad protection electrode along the first data link. The first data link is formed from a metal film different from a metal film used for forming the data line and connected to the data line through a contact electrode extended from the second data link. |
