PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner comprising a vacuum cleaner body to float by action of discharged air from an electric blower capable of maintaining a floating state of the vacuum cleaner body even when quantity of discharged air is reduced. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with a vacuum cleaner body 1 including a dust collecting chamber 6 and an electric blower 11, and a float member 26 under the vacuum cleaner body 1 to float the vacuum cleaner body 1 from a cleaning surface by discharged air from the electric blower 11, and on the upstream side of the electric blower 11, a float assisting member 22 having a switching valve 24 to introduce outer air into the vacuum cleaner body 1 by specified pressure is provided.
