Remote position sensor comprises a remote sensor, such as a level or approach sensor, linked via a connection cable to an analysis unit. The sensor normalized analogue output signal forms the input to the analysis unit, which generates a second normalized output signal that is used to continually adjust sensor response. Sensors with different operating principles are connected to the analysis and control unit and respond to the same analysis range of a normalized feedback output signal.
