A monitor system suitable for home security or the like includes a plurality of terminal devices (31,32...) each for monitoring whether a respective particular place to be monitored is in a normal state or in an abnormal state; and a central processing device (10) for controlling the setting and canceling of a warning operation of each terminal device (31,32...). The central processing device (10) has communication means for receiving information related to a normal/abnormal state from each terminal device and transmitting predetermined information including command to each terminal device. The terminal devices (31,32...) each have communication means for transmitting the information related to the normal/abnormal state to the central processing device (10) and receiving the predetermined information from the central processing device. This allows bi-lateral communication between the central processing device and each terminal device. Some of the plurality of terminal devices (31,32...) each have emergency call means that is activated in an emergency to make a notification, others have means for informing that a notification of occurrence of an abnormal state has been received by a predetermined destination.
