This invention provides a fusion protein of Interferon and Thymosin (IFN-THY) fusion protein), a DNA sequence coding for this fusion protein, a vector containing this DNA sequence, a host cell containing this vector, a method for preparing this fusion protein using genetic engineering, and pharmaceutical compositions containing this fusion protein. The IFN-THY fusion protein of this invention has the activity of IFN and also has the immuno-excitation activity of THY, and it can be used for the treatment of such illnesses as viral infections and for strengthening the immune function of the organism.
