PURPOSE: A continuously variable transmission with the wide range is provided to enlarge the shift range continuously by adding two series planetary gears, a decelerator and clutches to the continuously variable transmission, and to reduce the weight, the size and cost by operating clutches in synchronizing. CONSTITUTION: A continuously variable transmission comprises a continuously variable transmission unit(10) having a driving shaft and a driven shaft and continuously controlling the speed rate of the driven shaft to the driving shaft; a first planetary gear set(20) having a first sun gear receiving rotation of the driven shaft, a first pinion gear engaged with the first sun gear, a first ring gear engaged with the first pinion gear and a first carrier supporting the first pinion gear; a decelerator(40) transmitting rotation of the driving shaft to the first carrier with the fixed deceleration ratio; a second planetary gear set(30) having a second sun gear integrally formed with the first sun gear, a second pinion gear engaged with the second sun gear, a second ring gear engaged with the second pinion gear, and a second carrier supporting the second pinion gear, rotating with the first ring gear and connected to an output shaft; a first clutch(51) selectively shutting off connection of the decelerator; a second clutch(52) selectively rotating all factors of the first planetary gear set at the same speed; and a fourth clutch(54) fixing rotation by combining the second ring gear with the case selectively.
