The machine for the filling of film bags open on one side operates in a way such that the bag (3) reaches the filling station (7) with its stepped filling opening (6) lying uppermost and inclined. A device is provided on the filling opening for the opening of it by an air blast. The full bag on the side opposite the filling opening has a suspension flange (4). At the end of the transporting surface (10), in contact with a welding station, an endless conveyor belt (12) acting from above is provided for the controlled leading away of waste strips (5).
