APPARATUS FOR DNA GEL DOCUMENTATION USING SCANNER

PURPOSE: An apparatus for DNA gel documentation using a scanner is provided, thereby rapidly, easily and cheaply carrying out the electrophoresis and documentation. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for DNA gel documentation comprises an electrophoresis device; an ultraviolet lamp for irradiating UV to DNA gel; a diffuser for evenly distributing the UV intensity; an UV filter for filtering the UV from the diffuser; an optical filter for blocking the DNA fragment free light released from dyed DNA irradiated by UV; a scanner for scanning the light passed through the optical filter via one dimensional CCD sensor; and a computer and a video monitor outputting the image from the scanner.
