PURPOSE: A method for searching for programs by genres in a digital TV is provided to conveniently search for the same programs as a program currently on the air in a genre and easily compare the programs by providing program palettes. CONSTITUTION: If a viewer presses a power button for operating a remote control and then presses a genre selection key, a program palette assigned to the pressed number is displayed(S300). If the viewer wheels up or down a wheel button, the up program palette is displayed or the down program palette is displayed, and if the viewer presses the genre selection key again, the corresponding channel is selected(S310). If the viewer presses an exit button, the current program palette disappears(S320). |
