PURPOSE: A device for preventing the ignition and explosion of a Li/SOCl2 battery is provided, to completely prevent the explosion due to the internal pressure of a battery for improving the stability and reliability of a Li/SOCl2 battery. CONSTITUTION: The device(6) for preventing the ignition and explosion comprises at least one drawing part which has a certain width formed on the surface of a disk (7, or container) with a certain thickness and whose thickness is smaller than that of the disk; and a notch part which is formed in the center of the drawing part and has a thickness and a width smaller than those of the drawing part. When the device(6) for preventing the ignition and explosion is operated, an electrode plate is not projected and only electrolyte solution is discharged. Preferably the thickness of the notch part is 0.02-0.04 mm.
