In the interior of a vehicle markings (10, 13) are positioned on vehicle elements (2, 8, 7, 19) that are detected by a stereo camera (1). Said markings are configured as reflectors or as light emitters. The stereo camera (1) detects brightness differences between the respective marking and the immediate surroundings of the marking and detects the position of the marking.
