PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting and removing cutting burr of slab is provided, which is capable of improving actual yield and quality of slab product by automatically detecting thus removing cutting burr fused to the lower surface of both ends of the slab. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a base(5) arranged at an intermediate part of roller table(220) and rotatable around both end axes; a detection part which is equipped with a plural touch bars(64a,64b) arranged at both sides of a plural central cylinders at one side surface of the base(5), and in which electrical signals are transmitted from limit switch when the touch bars(64a,64b) are in contact with the cutting burr of the slab; a cutter part comprising rotatable cutter positioned on the other side surface of the base(5) and motor for rotationally driving the cutter to remove residual cutting burr of the slab; a rotation part comprising cylinder(16) positioned at one side of the base(5) to rotate the base(5) so that the detection part or cutter part is positioned at the upper side of the base(5); and a control part(80) equipped with cylinder(20) for lifting or lowering the base(5) and rotation part vertically and electrically connected to photo cells(90a,90b) for detecting admission of the slab to control the operation conditions of the detection part, cutter part and rotation part.
