PURPOSE: A double-deck recorder having a function of extending recording time is provided to extend recording time of a cassette tape and to reduce wear of the cassette tape. CONSTITUTION: A double-deck recorder includes the first, second and third channel selectors(320,330,340), and an erasure head(310). The first channel selector is connected between an equalizing amplifier and an output amplifier to select an audio signal output channel of a reproduction head. The second channel selector is connected between the first channel selector and a play-recording head and the output amplifier to select an audio signal output channel and input channel of the play-recording head. The erasure head includes the first erasure head(311) of erasing a magnetic signal recorded in L track of a cassette tape and the second erasure head(312) of erasing a magnetic signal recorded in R track of the cassette tape. The third channel selector is connected between an oscillator and the erasure head to select an output channel of AC output from the oscillator to the erasure head.
