PURPOSE: A mandrel for winding an electrode roll is provided, to minimize the thickness of an electrode roll and to optimize the shape of an electrode roll by modifying the shape and structure of a mandrel. CONSTITUTION: The mandrel comprises first and second bodies(31, 32) which are formed by separating a plate-shaped member with a certain width at regular intervals and whose electrode roll(4) is formed by alternately winding a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode and a separator placed between the positive and negative electrode plates; a core rod(33) inserted between the first and second bodies for fixing the separator; and a support means which fixes and leaves the first and second bodies and the core rod and has a support groove for inserting the one terminal of the first and second bodies and the one terminal of the core rod. Preferably the cross-section of the core rod(33) is elliptical.
