PURPOSE: A method is provided to achieve improved performance and efficiency by minimizing the engine operating time and the time taken for rising the fuel pressure of the fuel supply line. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the first step(301,303) of calculating the fuel pressure of the fuel tank from the fuel pressure of the fuel supply line; the second step(305,307,309) of checking whether the ignition switch is turned on, and rising the fuel pressure of the fuel supply line by driving the fuel pump if the ignition switch is turned on; the third step(311) of checking whether the difference between the fuel pressure calculated in the first step and the fuel pressure of the fuel supply line risen in the second step is higher than a predetermined level; and the fourth step(313) of driving the engine by supplying the fuel from the fuel tank to the injector if it is judged in the third step that the difference between the fuel pressure of the fuel tank and the fuel pressure of the fuel supply line is higher than the predetermined level.
