PURPOSE: A biocontactor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to efficiently perform biological sewage and wastewater purification treatment through granular biocontactor prepared by kneading powder type artificial zeolite produced from waste coal ash with shells and portland cement. CONSTITUTION: In manufacturing a biocontactor for sewage and wastewater purification using artificial zeolite, the manufacturing method of the biocontactor comprises mixing and kneading step of mixing kneading the materials using a mixing and kneading machine (S140) so that the mixed and kneaded materials have a moisture content of 25 to 30% by adding water to the mixture after preparing a mixture by mixing powder type artificial zeolite (S100) with crushed shells (S110) and portland cement (S120); compression moulding step of compression moulding the mixed and kneaded materials into a certain size using a rotary transfer and compression moulding machine (S150); drying and production step of producing granular biocontactor (S170) by drying the compression moulded materials using a drying and transfer unit (S160); neutralizing step of neutralizing (S180) the dried granular biocontactor (S170) using a sulfuric acid solution; and water washing step of water washing (S190) the neutralized material for 2 to 3 times.
