<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellently safe agent for inhibiting serotonin reabsorption and an agent for promoting serotonin release, having excellent stability and excellent in prices, and to obtain a composition containing them. <P>SOLUTION: The agent for inhibiting the serotonin reabsorption, the agent for promoting the serotonin release, an antagonist of a serotonin receptor, or a binding inhibitor of a serotonin transporter receptor contains a kale, a propolis or one of extracts thereof. The oral composition or the parenteral composition contains them and preferably has a shape of a food product or a medicine. They have activities of inhibiting the serotonin reabsorption and promoting the serotonin release and can be used for diseases such as depression, disturbance of memory, dependence and hyperphagia considered to be associated with the serotonin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
