PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound which is recognized as an epitope by an antibody against an Advanced Glycation End Product (AGE), to provide a method for examining a disease in which the production or accumulation of AGE participates, and to provide a method for evaluating the medicinal efficacy of a medicine for the disease. SOLUTION: This pyridinium derivative represented by general formula (I), and the antibody against an antigen containing the same is prepared.
