<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display method with which a display picture with improved amusement is displayed. <P>SOLUTION: In the display method for displaying a plurality of patterns at respective pattern display positions A1 to A3 while varying them in prescribed order and for displaying afterwards stopped patterns at least specified out of the plurality of patterns at pattern stop positions P1 to P3 of the first to third pattern display positions A1 to A3 while respectively stopping them, a pattern different from the stop patterns is displayed while being stopped as a temporary stopped pattern at the pattern stop position P1 (or P2) of at least one of the pattern display positions A1 and A2. After the stopped pattern or the temporary stopped pattern is displayed while being stopped at the pattern stop position of the pattern display position A3, the temporary stopped pattern displayed while being stopped at the pattern stop position of at least one position A1 (or A2) is switched to the stopped pattern according to prescribed pattern switching procedures and displayed.
