PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood for an endoscope allowing easy recognition of installation to a distal end of an endoscope insertion part of a proper diameter. SOLUTION: This hood 10 for the endoscope 1 has a protrusion part 10c protruding to an observation view field direction of the endoscope 1, in the tip of a tube-like hood body 10a installed by the pressing in a state wherein a circumferential-direction installation position is positioned in a proper direction in a distal end 2 of the endoscope insertion part 5. The hood 10 is provided with an installation state confirmation means warning of an improper installation state by increasing an area of the protrusion part 10c reflected in an endoscope observation image when the hood body 10a is installed in a distal end of a second endoscope insertion part 5b having size different from a first endoscope insertion part 5a allowing proper installation of the hood body 10a.
