PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an innovative wrench with significantly high marketability. SOLUTION: A slide body 6 is provided which can freely travel along a guide part 10 provided in the lengthwise direction of a grip body 1 by being jointed with the grip body 1 in a fitted condition, one jaw part 4 which is provided opposite to the other jaw part 3 provided at the grip body 1 is provided at the slide body 6, a worm body 7 engaged with rack teeth 8 provided at the grip body 1 is provided at the slide body 6 so as to be freely rotated, and a gap between the jaw parts 3, 4 is constituted so as to be varied by moving the slide body 6 to the grip body 1 by rotational operation of the worm body 7. An engagement releasing mechanism 9 for releasing an engagement condition of the worm body 7 to the rack teeth 8 is provided at the slide body 6, and the slide body 6 is constituted so that the gap between the jaw parts 3, 4 may be varied by sliding to the grip body 1 with the engagement condition of the worm body 7 released to the rack teeth 8 by the engagement releasing mechanism 9.
