PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable absorber with superior blood absorptivity, and to provide an absorber practically satisfiable on this point of requiring repetitive absorptivity for allowing a water absorber of absorbing blood once to absorb blood again in addition to high absorbing power, a superior absorbing speed, and liquid permeability similar when absorbing urine as performance required for the absorber used for a viscous liquid such as blood. SOLUTION: This absorber is characterized in that galactomannan is composed of boron and gel cross-linked by polyvalent metal ions of trivalent or higher other than boron, and absorbs blood of a five-time quantity of dead weight within 60 sec from start of absorbing the liquid.
