PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckle device, which prevents disengagement of a tongue plate without an inertia body when a large accelerating force is applied to a buckle body. SOLUTION: A slot 36 which movably holds a lock bar 70 on the side of a buckle body 20 between an engagement holding position and an engagement releasing position, is formed. A notched suppression portion 39 is formed at the end part on the side of the engagement holding position of the slot 36, and the lock bar 70 is made to freely change its posture between a suppressing position engageable to and a non-suppressing position unengageable to the suppression portion 39 at the engagement holding position. In an engagement state of the buckle body 20 and the tongue plate 12, the lock bar 70 is changed into a suppression posture, so that, when the buckle body 20 is applied with a sudden force, the lock bar 70 engages to the suppression portion 39 to prevent inertial movement to the engagement holding/releasing positions, thus preventing the disengagement of the tongue plate 12.
