<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method and an ink jet recording apparatus, capable of providing the excellent image quality after a recording operation without solidification of an ink in the vicinity of an ink ejecting nozzle, while using a pigment. without a defect in terms of the hue, the light resistance, the water resistance and the image quality with high ejection stability. <P>SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording method and apparatus for forming an image using inks of a plurality of colors, at least one of an ink produced by dissolving or dispersing an azo dye of a specific structure in a water-based solvent, and an ink produced by dissolving or dispersing a phthalocyanine dye of a specific structure in a water-based solvent is used, and prior to a recording operation to a recording medium, an ink ejecting operation is executed by at least 5 pl per each time within 5 seconds for a plurality of times to total 20 pl or more from each of a plurality of ink ejecting nozzles without impacting on the recording medium, and thereafter the ink adhered on the surface of each ink ejecting nozzle (nozzle plate 31) is wiped off by a flexible member 51. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
