<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip and method for controlling a game machine by which illegal access is made to be difficult. <P>SOLUTION: The chip comprises: a CPU; a storage means; a random number generation circuit for generating the random number of an M sequence system or a counter system; a bit scramble circuit for bit-scrambling the random number outputted from the random number generation circuit; a random number maximum value comparing circuit for comparing the output of the bit scramble circuit with a random number maximum value stored in advance; a random number holding circuit which requests the random number generation circuit and repeats a request for the random number until obtaining a random number value which does not exceed the maximum value when the result of comparing processing by the random number maximum value comparing circuit exceeds the maximum value, and which obtains and holds the random number when it does not exceed the maximum value; and a random number reading circuit in which the random number which is obtained by taking the random number which has been held in the random number holding circuit in the case of a request by external trigger input or the reading request of the random number by a user. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
