PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem with an elevator with a hoist 5 or the like installed in an elevator shaft: that the maintenance work of the hoist, including securing a counterweight to a pit and suspending a car 10 from a guide rail 1 or the like by means of a chain block, etc., is very large-scale and requires a substantial amount of time and personnel. SOLUTION: A bracket 20 is secured to the guide rail 1 and connected to a main rope 6, whereby the main rope 6 is securely connected to the guide rail 1 to prevent the car 10 and the counterweight from moving.
