<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of measurement. <P>SOLUTION: An MPU 10, when measuring blood pressure, controls the pressure in a cuff 1, detects a pulse wave generated by the compression pressure of the cuff 1 via a bandpass filter 6 or the like, and calculates the waveform feature quantity of the detected pulse wave. When calculating blood pressure by using the calculated waveform feature quantity and outputting it, the MPU 10 detects the pulse wave in the range of cuff pressures where pulse waves are detectable. Since the processing of the blood pressure measurement, comprising the steps of detecting the pulse wave, calculating the waveform feature quantity, and calculating the blood pressure, is executed in the range of cuff pressures where pulse waves are detectable, the process is not performed in the range where pulse waves are undetectable, thus enabling accurate blood pressure measurement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
