PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crushing method for safely crushing a container containing powder of toners for a printer and the like. SOLUTION: The crushing method for the container containing the powder comprises (a) a process of accommodating a plastic container in an accommodation body and crushing the container containing the powder by a crushing means, (b) a process of substituting the atmosphere condition in the accommodation body for inert gas, (c) a process of discharging the powder and the inert gas in the accommodation body during the crushing operation by the crushing means, and (d) a process of supplying the inert gas into the accommodation body during the crushing process.
