PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems on the increase of the number of memories and the enlargement of a control circuit in speeding up a digital scan converter which interpolates the echo data obtained by scanning of ultrasonic beams, corresponding to a picture element and the like of a display device. SOLUTION: The echo data inputted from a sending and receiving circuit in time series are delayed by a register 70, and the data of two sampling points adjacent to each other on sound ray are simultaneously outputted from a data parallelization circuit 26. A set of two data is written in an address of one of the memories 74, 76. The data of four points used in interpolation are divided into two sets, sorted by an input selector 72, and written in each memory by each set. A read address generating circuit 46 determines two addresses for storing the data of four sampling points surrounding an interpolation object point, and designates it to each memory one by one, whereby four echo data are simultaneously read out from two memories.
