PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a masking sheet which fully closes a window of a building during coating work and is rendered permeable to air during a period in which no coating work is carried out. SOLUTION: This masking sheet for a window in the coating work for a building is characterized in that an opening window part (3) is provided in substantially the center of a frame sheet (1), and a large number of substantially strip-shaped sheets (5) are disposed in the opening window part so as to face one another in a parallel form in a successively partially stacked state. In addition, both ends (5') of each of the substantially strip-shaped sheets are fixed to the frame sheet, and the substantially strip-shaped sheets are mutually connected to one another through an operating string (7) disposed on the surface side of the substantially strip-shaped sheets in a direction at a right angle to the substantially strip-shaped sheets. When the operating string is drawn in one direction, the substantially strip-shaped sheets are opened while; and, when the operating string is drawn in another direction, the substantially strip-shaped sheets are closed.
