PURPOSE:To take an accurate measurement of braking distance, by stopping the operation of a man conveyor by turning off the switch when a working piece provided to the moving part of the conveyor passes by the switch. CONSTITUTION:Switch 6 of stopping circuit 8 is drawn out of the lower part of platform 13 and then fixed to balustrade 9 of the escalator temporarily. On the other hand, switch working piece 14 is fixed temporarily onto handrail 11 opposing to switch 6. Then, when the escalator is operated, working piece 14 moves as rail 11 moves, and then passes by switch 6. At this time, working piece 14 operates switch 6 to stop the operation of the escalator. Next, the distance between working piece 14 having stopped and switch 6 is measured, so that the braking distance from the arrival of a stop command can accurately be measured. |
