PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tantalum powder or a niobium powder with high productivity which is fine and has a large surface area, and has a purity suitable for the anode material of a solid electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: In a crushing process for crushing a tantalum crude powder by a crusher, a crusher is used which is equipped with crushing media having at least a tantalum layer on the surface. In a crushing process for crushing a niobium crude powder by a crusher, a crusher is used which is equipped with crushing media having at least one of a tantalum layer, a niobium layer, and a tantalum-niobium layer on the surface. Thereby the tantalum powder or niobium powder suitable for the anode material of the solid electrolytic capacitor can be obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
