<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder, and its controlling method, in which missing of a dot can be eliminated in the early stage. <P>SOLUTION: When missing of a dot is detected by missing dot inspection, the ink jet recorder 31 repeats cleaning of a head and the missing dot inspection. When missing of dot is not eliminated even after repeating the cleaning and the missing dot inspection a specified number of times, the ink jet recorder 31 transmits a terminal identifier, detail information of error, related information, and the like, to a management computer 21. When an engineer makes a decision to perform a specified operation in the ink jet recorder 31 and notifies the management computer 21 to this effect, the management computer 21 transmits data for designating operation to the ink jet recorder 31 where cleaning is performed under special conditions based on that data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
