At least one of the regeneration sections (4) in the heat exchanger (2) is replaced by an extra heating section (10) coupled along with the original heating section (5) to a hot water aggregate (9). An arrangement in a plant used to carry out heat treatment of a liquid food product comprises a heat exchanger with a cooling section (3), at least two regeneration sections and a heating section. Also present is a holder cell (7), as well as pumps, valves (12-14) and a temperature sensor (11), the different parts being coupled together by pipes.
