PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely grip a shaft center in a state of accurately positioning the shaft center of a pipe material. SOLUTION: This automatic clamp mechanism has turning claws 6 turnably arranged in a plurality around the pipe material, and gripping the pipe material by contacting the respective tip sides with the pipe material, a driving ring 7 formed to surround the periphery of the turning claws 6, and turning the respective turning claws by rotating in a fitted state to the base end side of the respective turning claws 6, and a driving part 3 for rotating the driving ring 7 by preset torque. The tip sides of the turning claws 6 are formed while gradually changing a radius of curvature to surely contact over the wide area with several pipe materials different in the size.
