Compounds of the formula

wherein R<1> is a C1-C6-alkyl group and R<2> is a phenyl, pyridyl, thienyl, furyl, biphenylyl or naphtyl group, the group being optionally substituted by 1,2 or 3 substituents selected from halogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, hydroxyl, amino and nitro,
and their salts for treating cerebral arteriosclerosis, senile mental indolence and cerebral insufficiency, prepared by reacting R<2>CHO with
