The invention relates to a method for the characterisation of a polymer or a polymer mixture comprising at least PET, PEN, PBT, PA, PC or the copolymers thereof, said polymer or polymer mixture containing at least one type of end group or functional group and being processed during a process involving at least one of the following steps: melt extrusion, crystallisation, drying and solid phase post-condensation. The inventive method comprises the following steps: a) a polymer sample is taken from the polymer or polymer mixture in at least one of the steps of the process, b) said polymer sample is prepared for its characterisation, and c) the respective polymer sample is characterised by means of infrared spectroscopy. According to the invention, the sample taken is prepared in step b) in such a way that it is spread out to form a layer, and the characterisation is carried out in step c) on the sample spread out to form a layer. |
