PURPOSE: A purification method of oxazoline-azetidinone derivatives is provided, thereby completely removing triphenylphosphine sulfide as a by-product, so that the purification process can be simplified and yield and purity of oxazoline-azetidinone derivatives can be improved. CONSTITUTION: A purification method of oxazoline-azetidinone derivatives comprises the steps of: adding an oxidizing agent into an organic solution containing a compound of formula 1 and triphenylphosphine sulfide in order to oxidize triphenylphosphine sulfide; and separating the oxidized triphenylphosphine sulfide from the compound of formula 1, wherein R is p-methoxyphenyl, benzyl, phenoxymethyl, p-tolyl, phenyl, or p-chlorophenyl; and R' is diphenylmethyl, p-methoxybenzyl or t-butyl. The oxidizing agent is selected from the group consisting of acetic acid peroxide, hydrogen peroxide, m-chloroperbenzoic acid, perbenzoic acid, NaIO4 and a mixture thereof. The separation of oxidized triphenylphosphine sulfide is carried out adding a protonic organic solvent into the reaction solution to crystallize the compound of formula 1. The protonic solvent is selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, n-butanol and a mixture thereof.
